Common questions

Where are my designs saved? As documents in iCloud Drive, in the Floorplan Layout folder, or on your device if iCloud Drive is off. They appear on every device signed in to the same Apple Account.

How do I share a design? Use Share in the toolbar to send a copy of the file. The person receiving it needs Floorplan Layout to open it.

A design says it needs a newer version. It was saved by a newer version of the app. Update Floorplan Layout from the App Store to open it.

How do I trace a floor plan? In the room inspector, import an image or PDF of the plan, set its scale by measuring a wall of known length, then use Trace Outline and Trace Walls, Doors & Names. Check the result: thin or angled lines may need drawing by hand.
